Our Board of Trustees is comprised of eight experienced and accomplished business leaders:

    Gerry has been a Trustee since our IPO and is the head of our Audit Committee. He is also the Chairman of Cumberland Private Wealth Management, which currently manages assets in excess of $2.0 billion for primarily high net worth investors. Prior to founding Cumberland Private Wealth Management in 1997, Gerry was President of Connor, Clark & Company (1977 to 1997) and Chairman of the board of directors of Connor, Clark & Lunn Investment Management. Gerry has over 35 years of investment experience.

    Gord has been a Trustee since our IPO and is our Chairman and the head of our Governance and Compensation Committee. Positions Gord has previously held include Vice Chairman of Cumberland Private Wealth Management and President and Chief Executive Officer of London Insurance Group and London Life Insurance Company. Prior to that, Gord was a partner at the law firm of Torys LLP.

    Michael has been a Trustee since our IPO and is our President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to entering the real estate business in 1988, Michael was a partner at the law firm of Aird & Berlis LLP, specializing in corporate and real estate finance. Michael is also a Director of Equitable Group Inc. and Equitable Bank.

    Jim became a Trustee in 2006 and is a member of our Audit Committee. He is a chartered accountant with over 25 years of experience in the real estate development/financing industries. He was the Vice President Finance of Genstar Property Corporation and the President of First City Development. He was also President of RealFund, Canada's first Real Estate Investment Trust. Jim is a past director of the Canadian Institute of Public Real Estate Companies and was the Founding Chairman of the Association of Foreign Investors in U.S. Real Estate.

    Margaret is a partner with the law firm of Aird & Berlis LLP. She practices in the areas of corporate and securities law, including corporate governance, public financings, mergers and acquisitions, acquisition financings and corporate reorganizations. Ms. Nelligan earned an LL.B. (Hons.) from the University of Windsor in 1984. She has been granted the ICD.D designation by the Institute of Corporate Directors. Ms. Nelligan is a director of Horizon Utilities Corporation and a director of Lakefield College School.

    Ralph became a Trustee in 2008 and is a member of our Audit Committee. He is a chartered accountant with over 35 years of experience. Since 2006, Ralph has served as independent advisor and consultant. From 1973 to 2005, he was a partner in BDO Dunwoody LLP, specializing in income tax practice for corporate clients in the following areas: limited partnerships, tax shelters, real estate development, hotels, securities, prospectus and offering memorandum work, international tax planning, management and consulting companies and Canadian controlled private corporations. He has also served as an expert witness on taxation matters in the Tax Court of Canada, in criminal court, family law and civil litigation matters.

    Peter has been a Trustee since May, 2012. He was the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Cadillac Fairview (2000-2010) one of Canada’s largest investors, owners and managers of commercial real estate. Peter held senior executive positions with Cadillac Fairview since 1984. He served as Global Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) in 2010. In 2010 Peter was the recipient of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Canada Chairman’s Award. Peter serves on several Boards including Postmedia Network Canada Corp., First Industrial REIT, Morguard, and The Sunnybrook Foundation.

    Lois Cormack has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sienna Senior Living Inc. since 2013, and has led the Company through significant growth and transformation. Ms. Cormack is an experienced leader in the sector, having served as the past President of a mid- sized seniors living company, running an independent consulting practice, and holding other senior leadership roles in the health care and seniors’ living sectors. In 2014 and 2015 Ms. Cormack was named as one of Canada’s top female entrepreneurs in Profit/Canadian Businesses W100. She currently serves on the Board of Governors at Seneca College and as a Director of Sienna Senior Living. Ms. Cormack holds a Masters of Health Administration from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Ivey Executive Program at the University of Western Ontario and the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program. She is also a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
